I thought that too but that's what it has stamped on the unit. M153155 also gave me the code of 8884 if that's any help?

Our Sony 6 cd changer has locked since it went into the garage, serial number M0153155 however, the code for this should be 8884 but this does not work!

I'm not sure what to do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
