Cheers mate,it did work.I'd already pulled the radio and checked the sticker.

Hi guys,

Had to changed the battery in my wife's Fiesta, and the code in the handbook is incorrect.

Serial is M076644, I tried a couple of online generators which gave me code 6424, is than correct?
