FORD V SERIAL NUMBER CODES
If your radio has the Ford V Serial Number then it will not normally be available for free as access is required to the Ford factory database (unless you can blag it for free from Ford)

Hi.
I tried the 6&1 but it just continues the 30 minutes countdown. Is there another way to get the serial number. It is showing 9 tries.
Only just bought the car.
Stef ...., Another possibility is 6 and 2 ...... care are very few attempts ...... you look inside the glove, the glove even shows that often the code and Nª serial is behind eye ------ I repeat it attempts
stef ........ Here I leave something if you exhaust the 10 trials
If your radio is displaying CODE after entering an incorrect serial, you have two more attempts before a WAIT 30:00 code displays, meaning there will be a 30 minute delay until you are able to enter another code. Once at 00:00 you can attempt your code once more. If incorrect you can repeat this procedure up to a total of 10 times.
If LOCK10 appears after entering 10 incorrect codes, press and hold the number 6 button while turning on the radio to change from LOCK10 back to CODE. You then have 3 further attempts at the code before LOCK13 appears.
If LOCK13 appears then you will need to take the radio to a Ford Dealer or radio specialist to be unlocked.
However, I have come across this piece of information for any radios displaying LOCK 13. There is no evidence to support this works however but it might be worth a try....
If you know the code and unit is at '13' press and hold button 6 for about 10 to 15 seconds and you will be allowed 1 more chance to enter code and only once, for older ford units hold select + man for 1 more try
The official line is - straight from October update of FORD TIS.
1. Drivers door open - leave open.
2. Ign. ON. - Use RED key only.
3. Radio ON.
4. Press and hold presets 1, 3 and 6.
5. Ign. OFF then back ON within 1 second.
6. Release presets 1, 3 and 6.
7. Radio OFF.
8. Ign. OFF.
Repeat the above the same number of times that is showing on the display when you started. i.e: 10 or 13.
Please Note that this method will not work with American FIC sets.
Put the key in the ignition and leave the door open for an hour, it will resest the radio to put the right code.
TEN This is one additional attempt. press SELECT + MAN
TEN+ to decode
The radio must be in car, not on your table with external power supply and in a FORD car with original connectors.

This is an URBAN MYTH which does NOT work
LOCK13 has to be reset by the Ford Main Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service
