hi. i've bought a 6000 cd and from doing a scan its from 2004

i have been given the code of 1979 (serial number M016609) which seems right but every time i put the code it the unit stays on for about 2 seconds, goes off and comes back on asking for the code again.

i've checked the power to the unit and everything looks right. battery constant is good, ignition feed is good.

with the ignition off pressing the power button turns the unit on so battery constant must be good.

any help would be great

after you put the code in are you pressing 5 to save the code ?
