Thank you for this awesome resource. While trying to get my 6000 Cd up and running after changing the battery, I discovered a method of obtaining the serial number without removing the radio unit (if this is already documented, apologies!)

Turn on the unit
Hold down buttons 6 and 1, and then release 6 (keep 1 pressed).
The unit will then cycle through a load of stuff. The first screen ends with the serial number of the device:
Mxxxxxx

But this doesn't seem to work if the radio already prompts you for the CODE... does it?

The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

Hi can you help me ---The code card that came with my 06 focus sport has now been input so many times thsat the following message flashes ----Security Locked -- I have abtained the correct serial number by using the 6 and 1 procedure which has a number M 049570 which is not the same as the card serial info ----Can you help with the correct number and info as to how i can input ---Thank you
