Radio code smax not working

Please can someone help me.
I have changed the battery on my smax and the radio has lost its code.
Unfortunately the code in my manual doesn't work.
Any ideas?

FORD V SERIAL NUMBER CODES
Make sure you are quoting the correct Serial Number
Otherwise
Sorry-----Your code is NOT in the small, free database
If your radio has the Ford V Serial Number then it will not normally be available for free as access is required to the Ford factory database (unless you can blag it for free from Ford)
