Thanks very much, that worked.
I have seen on other posts that the unit then froze after while, how would that be fixed should it happen?

The usual clear for "freezing" is either to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds..reconnect then re-enter the code.
The alternative is to leave it switched on for at least an hour (without interruption )to see if it resets
