Hi, my 6000 CD RDS

Serial Sticker Ford = M 179779

Code Generated = 4458

I input by using the 1 2 3 4 digits on radio front rapid pressing to select 4 4 5 8 then press button 5 on radio as I have NO 'Select' button.

This does not unlock radio.

Any advice please, I am now at attempt 6 waiting 30 mins each time.

are you sure it is M serial not V

v serial would give 0706

Thanks Chippy, I'm away to try that.... I wondered if the M serial related to an original radio in 2005 and this 6000CD model perhaps installed at a later date.

@ Chippy - Update - I forgot to leave my radio 'ON' so have to wait 30mins to try that 0706 CODE. What I did though was the 1 - 6 combo test to check the serial and received the info :- 50 70 2000
90 00 00

No letter prefix M or V at all.

0706 did not work. I have the original radio manual with a sticker inside with the M****** serial. I have tried to remove radio without success using the pins in each hole to check if still the original radio. I guess I will have to wait until i get proper 'removal' tools to release the radio from its chassis.

Have you "keep 1 pressed" ?
Hold down buttons 6 and 1, and then release 6 (keep 1 pressed).

@ Dave, yes I tried release 6 hold 1 and a series of 3 screens rotates with the info :- 50 70 2000 - 09 00 00 - DP MV 200, then returns back to 'CODE'-- -- -- --.
I also tried 6 + 2 - release 6 hold 2 but nothing.

With that method you would probably need someone to help. It sounds very tricky with a coat hanger though.

Tried poking 4 allan keys in and then using my 4 hands!!! impossible lol.... I might try the coat hanger method otherwise its off to halfords.

Ebay is much cheaper for extractors
