Obtaining 6000 CD Serial Number

M099244 CODE IS 0502

I'm struggling to get the M xx xx xx serial code and I really don't want to have to remove the 6000cd unit to get to label on back.

I've tried button 6&1 together all I get is a scroll through starting with

Hi Guys.
I too am having a problem locating the serial number. I hold down the 1 and 6 buttons and the data below is what follows. There is no series of number beginning with the letter M (which is what most people are getting). Any ideas??
If I do need to remove the radio, how do I do it (can I??) without the specialist tools??

The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

FORD V SERIAL NUMBER CODES

If your radio has the Ford V Serial Number ( and you have checked the small free database at the top /1st message of this Forum ) then it will not normally be available for free as access is required to the Ford factory database (unless you can blag it for free from Ford)
