Screen has "inked out " on my 6000cd .I removed the unit in the hope that I could replace the faulty screen for the one in an old 2000 traffic unit but they are completely different.
Unfortunately I cant find the manual for my 6000cd which had the code on it so I ask if you can help me out ?
The Serial number is M008449
many thanks

Re: Code for 6000cd
Many ,many thanks for that info .
Unfortunately as the screen is "inked out " I am having to input the code blind . I cannot recall the default state on the screen when I have to scroll the numbers in , ie are all the numbers at 0 if so then for he first number (6) i'd press the No 1 key six times .
Or is the screen showing a -- which would require me to press the button seven times , are they at 9 ,or do the numbers decrease when key pressed ,etc.etc......?
If they are at random to start with then I'd be better buying a couple of lottery tickets ..........
I have the OE 2000 cassette unit but it doesn't have a code on it so no reference there .
I hit the 10 attempts and it shut down for 30 mins yesterday so I had to leave it.
Any help would be most welcome as if I can get it operating again I'll search for a replacement LCD screen and change it out, if I cannot it's for the skip.
Thanks again
Don

It may be too late !.......If you have already had 10 attempts then you are in danger of fully locking your radio.steely dan wrote:Many ,many thanks for that info .

Press Button 6 for 10 seconds and that will give just 3 more attempts before fully locking the radio (which then will only be able to be reset by a Radio Decoding Service )
I think most radios display 1 after the first press
Try both methods
The code itself
The code plus an extra one press for each digit

FORD V SERIAL NUMBER CODESTashatee wrote:Hi there any one got the code for a ford 6000cd serial number is v099084
If your radio has the Ford V Serial Number then it will not normally be available for free as access is required to the Ford factory database (unless you can blag it for free from Ford)
A recommended cheap and reliable place is here
www.ukbookshelf.co.uk/fordv
Otherwise try your Ford Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service
